Between the measured line
and the free gesture.

Since 1984, Alessandro has built paintings as open visual systems. Repetition, layers, signs, and recognizable objects create paths for the gaze to follow, lose, and rediscover.

Read Painting the Invisible

Rhythm

It is the relationship between unity and variety. Repetition and difference create movement and guide the gaze through the work.

Balance

It is the relationship between visual forces. Forms, colors, empty spaces, and directions balance one another, without necessarily being symmetrical.

Harmony

It is the integration of the parts and the whole. Each element retains its identity while taking part in the same visual construction.
